Covenant Agreement Date: _________________
Effective _______________, _____________ shall serve as Director of Music Ministry at Bristol Lutheran Church.
The congregation agrees to pay a monthly salary of (negotiable) for the position of Director of Music Ministry. The terms of this agreement will be reviewed annually coinciding with the development of the annual church budget, which is started in October.
In Addition, the Organist shall: 1. Provide the parish secretary (a.m. five days before being played) with the titles of the music to be performed, such as prelude, offertory, and postlude. These will be printed in the weekly announcement sheet, put on the screen, and/or inserted in the order of worship for special services. 2. Notify the Pastor in the event of an emergency or illness. 3. Find an adequate replacement whenever he/she plans to be absent (in cooperation with the Worship & Music Committee). 4. Be notified whenever the need arises for a funeral or wedding. 5. Give 30 days written notice of intent to terminate employment.
This Congregation shall: 1. Provide for continuing education, seminars, and conferences on church music. 2. Maintain a guideline for compensating the Organist $100 for weddings and $100 for funerals. 3. Provide an annual performance review and opportunity for mutual dialog, goal setting, and conflict resolution. 4. Give 30 days written notice of intent to terminate employment.
